Digital Art II (for Windows xp)

Image
It’s that time of the year again, for sending greeting cards and trading Christmas postcards. I know not all can paint and draw but we can take pictures I hope. Well, don’t fret, here’s another trick you can do to send something with a personal touch. Here are a few that you can do” Take a picture of your family or subject (like a nativity set, your Christmas tree, lantern, feast on a table, wrapped gifts or boxes) you want to paint but can’t, that’s related to Christmas then upload it on your computer.  a)      Once saved there, open it on Windows Microsoft paint program and add text, frame, ribbons or other stuff you want on it too. Save. b)     Open the saved project and print on a photo paper Use the drawing tools in Microsoft Paint program to do the sketches. Save your work and print on cardstock or photo paper.  Here’s a sample: This is a postcard I made that we’re sending to friends in Sydney Australia. Th...

Digital Art

Image
I’ve been truly busy lately, doing illustrations for a Bible story book project. Thank God I’ve finished in time. This recent project is different, not only was I hired as an artist but I also did the drawings on the computer. Something I wasn’t sure would work and turn out well but surprisingly, it did, and hopefully the client is satisfied. I only used window’s Microsoft paint program for my work but was quite happy with the outcome but for those who are into more advanced digital drawing, try pen tablets such as Wacom tablets , you’d be amazed at the result.  I don’t have one yet but maybe in the near future I just might get one.

George and Winona (immortalize your pets)

Another risk I took in memory of my two beloved fishes George and Winona who died to unknown causes. Oil pastel on paper. Yes, you can immortalize your pets on canvass too.

Roses and grapes

I've been busy and haven't romanced my brushes and sticks for a while so finally, I've decided to make time for them and here's one of my recently finished project. I know, it still could use some tweaking. Acrylic - September 2011

CREATIVE CORNER

Image
A corner in my house where some of my dad’s work is on display and some of mine too. Whatever kind of art you’re into, exhibit your work however simple or small they are. Find a convenient place in your house to show your creative side.

Family Tree (from scraps)

Image
Dad made this family tree from scraps of wood and fallen dead branches from Cavite when he attended the church retreat last April. He carved our names on these recycled blocks of wood. Making something out of scrap.  Notice my name second from the top (being the eldest child), still single? That will change.

if I can, you can

Never say never, don't underestimate your talent or what you can possibly do. Not so long ago I didn't think I could ever really paint and now I do, and when I started I only used pastel sticks . Some friends encouraged me to try acrylic s, i didn't think I could like acrylic since you have to use brushes with it and I have shaky hands. I wasn't sure I can handle brushes but I gave it a try and surprised myself. Now I enjoy both pastel and acrylic equally. Took a lot practices and I still do. The key is to not give up on something you haven't even tried, to doubt you can really do it, especially if it's something you really want to do. Give yourself a chance, time to learn and polish and 'd be amazed at what you really can do. Here's one of my acrylic practices that so far shows my improvement.
