Another risk I took in memory of my two beloved fishes George and Winona who died to unknown causes. Oil pastel on paper. Yes, you can immortalize your pets on canvass too.

I've been busy and haven't romanced my brushes and sticks for a while so finally, I've decided to make time for them and here's one of my recently finished project. I know, it still could use some tweaking. Acrylic - September 2011

A corner in my house where some of my dad’s work is on display and some of mine too. Whatever kind of art you’re into, exhibit your work however simple or small they are. Find a convenient place in your house to show your creative side.

Dad made this family tree from scraps of wood and fallen dead branches from Cavite when he attended the church retreat last April. He carved our names on these recycled blocks of wood. Making something out of scrap.  Notice my name second from the top (being the eldest child), still single? That will change.

Never say never, don't underestimate your talent or what you can possibly do. Not so long ago I didn't think I could ever really paint and now I do, and when I started I only used pastel sticks . Some friends encouraged me to try acrylic s, i didn't think I could like acrylic since you have to use brushes with it and I have shaky hands. I wasn't sure I can handle brushes but I gave it a try and surprised myself. Now I enjoy both pastel and acrylic equally. Took a lot practices and I still do. The key is to not give up on something you haven't even tried, to doubt you can really do it, especially if it's something you really want to do. Give yourself a chance, time to learn and polish and 'd be amazed at what you really can do. Here's one of my acrylic practices that so far shows my improvement.
