Loved ones in your art

Image
Not only can your work be your expression of yourself and views but you can also immortalize your loved ones in your sketch es. Put the special people in your life on canvass, family friends, favorites even your pets. Here’s a sketch of my oldest nephew (11) and the reference photo from which I sketched him. I’m still new at this. I’ve only been recently indulging on portraits a few days ago.

You in your work

Image
Do you see yourself in your work? Your art is also an extended version of yourself or an expression of your personality. I’m usually a jovial person and you can see that on most of my paintings. They are brightly colored and full of life. I like vibrant colors and more than two or three on my work like this one: I know, I need to get a better camera.

Your heart in your art

Image
Express yourself in your art. Let your work be your words. Paint what you feel and you’ll be surprised what you can come up with. When you’re feeling downcast, paint and release your angst with your brushes. Art is therapeutic. Can you tell in what mood I was in when I did this sketch?

Free e-book on Acrylic painting secrets

Here’s another exciting material for us, artists and acrylic lovers. Bob Davies just completed and offering another free e-book, the “Acrylic Painting Secrets” series in PDF format. All that you’ll need is an ADOBE READER (A software that reads PDF files, you can google and download it free also) and an internet connection. The best thing about this deal is not that it’s free but that it’s loaded with nuggets of information and techniques on using acrylics. You can download the file in 7 parts (for slow connection) or all in one bundle at once (for those with faster internet). This e-book is absolutely 100% free. I’ve downloaded a copy already and learning a horde of stuff from it. I definitely recommend this to beginners, those who’ve really not had a formal study of acrylics and self-taught artists (like myself) who, for some reason can’t go or doesn’t have the time to attend art classes. This e-book is highly recommended. Here’s an overview video of the e-book if you’d like...
